North South gap

Technology does help to decrease the gap while the Politicians do their best to increase it. Take Education for instance, how many North Indian Students know South Indian history, their freedom fighters like V.O.Chidhambaram Pillai, Bharatiyar, Subramania Siva, Rajaji? In contrast, all South Indian students know about all the National Freedom Fighters. When Indian Cinema is talked about, it is only about Hindi Cinema and not at all about other language films including Bengali, Punjabi, etc. leave alone Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada which are always neglected. It is for the educated younger generation to rise to occasions through their technology and bridge all such gaps, inequality, narrow-mindedness and the like towards shaping up a better understanding, united and progressive Modern India equal if not better than their other counter-parts in the World in terms of all life necessities

poems

Poet
An Artist
who translates
thoughts and
portrays them
on paper
into
colourful and meaningful
letters & words
- (1990)

FUNNY

"What good act you did?"  asked a Sage.
"I saved a fly from Spider's net"  he replied.
"No,  it's bad,  for,  you took away Spider's food"

"Do you love thy neighbour" asked Rev. Father.
He did and was scolded by her Father.

"Work Hard, you will ger rewarded" said the Boss.
He did.....and got more work.

"Do you pray for solving your problems" asked Spiritual Teacher.
He prayed but,
his problems increased and
got complicated.

OH, Funny, is it not?
(1982)

YESTERDAYS

It's like Yesterdays
when
I was having Merry Days

I felt no need for money
yet, entertained many

I  had no fears
and was full of Cheers

I was loved by everyone
with whom I made every fun

I knew no sorrow, for
I worried not about tomorrow

All these when I was one
I wish I were back to that one
(1982)

OCEAN

Right from the time of its release
from her
she fondles it
nurses it
cries for its happiness
keeps awake for its sleep
suffers and starves
to alleviate its sufferings
sacrifies
for its upliftment
and dies
for its growth
and prosperity

An incarnation of
Ocean of Love
knowing only
kindness and love
and showering nothing
but affection and compassion
in abundance
and that is
MOTHER
like GODDESS

Oh,  How unfortunate am I
Not to have been blessed
with such love for long
for
she left me for Heaven
When I was just Seven
(1980)

POEMS (old stories in poem form)

THIRSTY CROW

A Smart Little Thirsty Crow

Went in Search with Sorrow

Found a Jar with Neck Narrow

Where Water was Less and Low

Finding Pebbles in a Heap

Relieved itself of its Weep

It Rushed and Flew with Joy and Fun

Dropped Pebbles into Jar one by one

Oh ! The Jar Water Rose and Rose

It Drank , quenched, Flew & Rose

(Moral : IF THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY )

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CROW & FOX

A Big Stupid Wandering Crow

Picked a Loaf from A Shop Below

Went & Sat on a Tree Branch Above

When a cunning Little Fox There Came

And Praised the Crow "Sing Your Fame"

Crow Openee Its Bloody Mouth

Fell the Bread Piece Down South

Ran the Lucky Fox All in Bumps

Took the Bread and Vanished in Jumps

(Moral : " BEWARE OF FALSE PRAISES")

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CROW & ITS STOLEN EGGS

Once on a Tree Very Tall

Lived A Couple of Birds with All

Laid eggs Watched Night and Day

But Their Eggs Vanished Every Day

Found A Snake-hole Down Below

Wondered & Worried "bout that Fellow

Sought the Advice of Friend Jackal

Whose Head was Full Brain All

Crow Stole the Necklace of Queen

Dropped into Snake-hole Unseen

Soldiers with Sticks Reached the Hole

Smashed It & Ran the Snake from Hole

Servants Found the Queen's Necklace

Crow Smiled with Joy on Face

(Moral : "WISER COUNSEL ALWAYS HELPS")

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE MONKEY & THE CROCODILE

Eating Fruits with Gay

On a Tree Near a Bay

A Monkey with Full of Grace

Called A Crocodile With Teeth Like Mace

Gave The Fruits To Its Bellyful

And Gave Some For Its Beautiful

Hearing About the Friend Monkey

Wife suggested Food "Liver of Monkey"

For It would Taste with Fruit Flavour

Husband agreed and Took Friend Dear

On His back to the Pond side

Sensing Trouble Monkey Said

"Take Me Back to My Side There

For My Liver is Stored On That Tree

And I"ll Fetch & Make It Free"

Reptile Swam & Took Monkey Back

When the Monkey Jumped to its Track

Relieved, it Showed its Teeth

Angered. Reptile Ground its Teeth

In Despair & Dismay It Found Its Way

And the Monkey Jumped & Went Away

(Moral : "BEWARE OF FOES IN GUISE OF FRIENDS")

Why not welcome rain with 'மழையே மழையே வா வா' instead of saying 'Rain Rain Go Away'
